TYPES OF PROPOSAL

There are three types of possible proposals. You will find a template for each one. The proposals can be in the form of an oral presentation, a session, gathering many presenters, or a poster.

1- Scientific Presentations

Scientific presentations will bring forward research outcomes according to identified themes.

2- Projects
This type of presentation addresses achievements relevant to the themes of the Congress. They may include the implementation of certain services, a story of partnership or advocating the exercise of rights, policy implementation or others.

- target groups and partners who are affected or involved
- area where the project was implemented
- approach used
- measurable outcomes, implications and points of view.



3- Personal testimonies
This type of presentation addresses personal accounts of situations experienced by persons with disabilities or their family and friends that are relevant to the themes of the Congress. They may include a story of partnership or advocating the exercise of rights, social inclusion process story, specific strategy of rights implementation and other.

Oral Presentations
Oral presentations will be categorized by theme, with four to six speakers per theme. The speakers will have 15 minutes for their presentation, followed by a 5-minute question period. The audiovisual equipment will be on site and everything will be set up beforehand to ensure that the presentations run smoothly. Oral presentations give speakers the opportunity to present research results, projects that have been implemented or to share personal accounts. The discussion period following the presentation is relatively short and serves mainly to provide clarification. Speakers are invited to make a summary of their presentation available and, if desired, their contact information.

Sessions
Sessions bring together a number of speakers addressing a particular theme. The length of the session will be adjusted based on the subject matter chosen and will include audience participation. The schedule can accommodate sessions lasting 1 hour to 2 hours in total, depending on the number of presenters (three, four or five, in addition to the facilitator). Each speaker will have approximately 10 minutes to present one facet of the issue. A facilitator will raise points for discussion pertaining to the presented topics and will seek audience participation. The session organizers are in charge of choosing the facilitator. Each proposal submitted as part of a session will be evaluated individually based on the same criteria and using the same methods as the oral presentations. A summary of the entire session must also be submitted and will be evaluated. The session format is intended to encourage discussions and exchanges. If desired, sessions can take the form of a round table, without any audiovisual devices. The summary must specify the type of session desired.

Posters
Poster sessions are also organized by theme. Presenters must remain by their posters at specific times throughout the Congress in order to answer questions from delegates.
